6.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
wpCommentTwit plugin version 0.5 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of administrators for requests that conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. This is achieved via the
username or password parameter in the "wpCommentTwit.php" page to "wp-admin/options-general.php" API endpoint.Recommendations
For wpCommentTwit plugin version 0.5 and earlier, consider disabling access to the wpCommentTwit.php page until a patch is available. Restrict access to the wp-admin/options-general.php endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the
username and password parameters in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.Exploit
