| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Smoothwall Express versions 3.0 SP3 through 3.1
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML. This can be achieved via the
PROFILENAME parameter in a Save action to "httpd/cgi-bin/pppsetup.cgi" or the COMMENT parameter in an Add action to "httpd/cgi-bin/ddns.cgi".Recommendations
For Smoothwall Express versions 3.0 SP3 through 3.1, consider disabling access to the "httpd/cgi-bin/pppsetup.cgi" and "httpd/cgi-bin/ddns.cgi" endpoints until a patch is available. Avoid using the
PROFILENAME and COMMENT parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
