CVE-2014-9731

CVSS v2.0

2.1

Low

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 3.18.2
Description The issue is related to the UDF filesystem implementation in the Linux kernel, where it does not ensure sufficient space for storing a symlink target's name along with a trailing 0 character. This allows local users to obtain sensitive information via a crafted filesystem image, related to the fs/udf/symlink.c and fs/udf/unicode.c files.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 3.18.2, update to version 3.18.2 or later to resolve the issue.
