CVE-2014-2338

CVSS v2.0

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions strongSwan versions prior to 5.1.3
Description The issue allows remote attackers to bypass authentication by rekeying an IKE SA during initiation or re-authentication, which triggers the IKE SA state to be set to established. This can lead to a violation of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The exploitation of this issue can be carried out remotely.
Recommendations For strongSwan versions prior to 5.1.3, update to version 5.1.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the IKEv2 protocol to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the rekeying feature of IKE SA until the issue is resolved.
