CVE-2015-1244

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 42.0.2311.90 Opera (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue arises from the URLRequest::GetHSTSRedirect function in url request/url request.cc, which fails to replace the ws scheme with the wss scheme when an HSTS Policy is active. This makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain sensitive information by sniffing the network for WebSocket traffic.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 42.0.2311.90, update to version 42.0.2311.90 or later to resolve the issue. For Opera, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
