| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Internet Explorer versions 8 through 9
Description
The issue is related to memory corruption, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via a specially crafted web site. This occurs when Internet Explorer improperly accesses objects in memory, potentially corrupting memory in a way that enables an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. If the current user has administrative user rights, a successful exploitation could grant the attacker complete control of the affected system, enabling them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations
For Internet Explorer versions 8 and 9, update to a newer version to mitigate the risk.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
