Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the dynamic memory of the Hyper-V service, which allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service on the host operating system by leveraging guest operating system privileges.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Windows 8.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting guest operating system privileges to minimize the risk of exploitation.
