CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
OpenSSL versions prior to 1.0.2a
Description
The issue is related to the sigalgs implementation in OpenSSL, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by using an invalid signature algorithms extension in the ClientHello message during a renegotiation. This can lead to a NULL pointer dereference and daemon crash. The vulnerability is associated with pointer dereference errors.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 1.0.2a, update to version 1.0.2a or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the signature algorithms extension in the ClientHello message to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
NULL Pointer Dereference
