CVE-2015-5199

CVSS v2.0

7.2

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libvdpau versions prior to 1.1.1
Description The issue is related to a directory traversal vulnerability in the dlopen function of libvdpau. This vulnerability can be exploited by local users to gain privileges via manipulation of the VDPAU DRIVER environment variable. The vulnerability exists due to incorrect restriction of the path name to a directory with limited access.
Recommendations For libvdpau versions prior to 1.1.1, update to version 1.1.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the VDPAU DRIVER environment variable to minimize the risk of exploitation.
