CVE-2015-5400

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Squid versions prior to 3.5.6
Description The issue is related to the handling of CONNECT method peer responses when configured with cache peer, allowing remote attackers to bypass intended restrictions and gain access to a backend proxy via a CONNECT request. This is due to insufficient access control to certain functions, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to bypass existing restrictions and gain access to the server by manipulating a CONNECT request.
Recommendations For Squid versions prior to 3.5.6, update to version 3.5.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the cache peer configuration to minimize the risk of exploitation.
