Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
sblim-sfcb versions 1.3.4 through 1.3.18
Description
The issue is related to the
lookupProviders function in providerMgr.c, which is vulnerable to NULL pointer dereference errors. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted packet with an empty className, potentially causing a denial of service and application crash.Recommendations
For sblim-sfcb versions 1.3.4 through 1.3.18, consider disabling the
lookupProviders function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the providerMgr.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using empty className in packets to prevent potential crashes.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
