CVE-2015-6758

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 46.0.2490.71 Opera (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to errors in the code of the PDFium component in Google Chrome. It allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service or possibly have other unspecified impacts by using a specially crafted PDF document. The CPDF Document::GetPage function in fpdfapi/fpdf parser/fpdf parser document.cpp does not properly perform a cast of a dictionary object.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 46.0.2490.71, update to version 46.0.2490.71 or later to resolve the issue. For Opera, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of the CPDF Document::GetPage function until a patch is available. Restrict access to crafted PDF documents to minimize the risk of exploitation.
