CVE-2015-6762

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 46.0.2490.71 Opera (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the CSSFontFaceSrcValue::fetch function in the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) implementation in Blink. This function does not use the CORS cross-origin request algorithm when a font's URL appears to be a same-origin URL. As a result, remote web servers can bypass the Same Origin Policy via a redirect. The vulnerability is associated with errors in security settings, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to circumvent existing access restriction policies.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 46.0.2490.71, update to version 46.0.2490.71 or later to resolve the issue. For Opera, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
