CVE-2015-4864

CVSS v2.0

3.5

Low

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL Server versions 5.5.43 and earlier Oracle MySQL Server versions 5.6.24 and earlier
Description The issue is related to errors in the code of the Server: Security: Privileges subcomponent of the MySQL database management system. It allows a remote attacker to modify data. The vulnerability can be easily exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols, potentially resulting in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For Oracle MySQL Server versions 5.5.43 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.5.43 to resolve the issue. For Oracle MySQL Server versions 5.6.24 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.24 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Server: Security: Privileges subcomponent to minimize the risk of exploitation.
