CVSS v2.0

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions PostgreSQL versions prior to 9.3.10 PostgreSQL versions prior to 9.4.5
Description The issue is caused by multiple stack-based buffer overflows in the json parsing component of the PostgreSQL database management system. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, resulting in a server crash. The vulnerability is related to the handling of json or jsonb values.
Recommendations For versions prior to 9.3.10, update to version 9.3.10 or later to resolve the issue. For versions prior to 9.4.5, update to version 9.4.5 or later to resolve the issue.
