Description
The issue allows attackers to gain privileges or cause a denial of service due to memory corruption via a crafted application. It is caused by a buffer overflow in the libstagefright library. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to elevate their privileges or cause a denial of service using a specially crafted application.
Recommendations
For Android versions prior to 5.1.1 LMY48X, update to version 5.1.1 LMY48X or later.
For Android versions prior to 6.0 2015-11-01, update to a version released after 2015-11-01.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the libstagefright library until a patch is available.
