CVE-2015-7812

CVSS v2.0

4.9

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Xen versions 4.4.x through 4.6.x
Description The issue is related to the hypercall create continuation function in arch/arm/domain.c, which allows local guest users to cause a denial of service (host crash) via a preemptible hypercall to the multicall interface. This is due to errors in security settings. An attacker can exploit this issue to cause a denial of service with a special hypercall.
Recommendations For Xen versions 4.4.x through 4.6.x, consider disabling the hypercall create continuation function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the multicall interface to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
