| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 43.0
Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the nsDeque::GrowCapacity function, which might allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact by triggering a deque size change. This could be achieved by exploiting the vulnerability in the nsDeque::GrowCapacity function in xpcom/glue/nsDeque.cpp.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 43.0, update to version 43.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
nsDeque::GrowCapacity function until a patch is available.Exploit
