CVE-2016-0610

CVSS v2.0

3.5

Low

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.27 and earlier MariaDB versions prior to 10.0.22 MariaDB versions 10.1.x prior to 10.1.9
Description The issue is related to errors in the InnoDB code of the MySQL database management system. It allows a remote attacker to affect availability by potentially causing the system to hang or crash using network packets. The vulnerability can be exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols, resulting in the ability to cause a hang or repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.27 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.27 to resolve the issue. For MariaDB versions prior to 10.0.22, update to version 10.0.22 or later. For MariaDB versions 10.1.x prior to 10.1.9, update to version 10.1.9 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
