| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
libxml2 and PHP versions prior to 5.4.45, 5.5.29, and 5.6.13
Description
The issue is related to errors in pointer dereferencing in the xsl ext function php function. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, resulting in a null pointer dereference and application crash, by using a specially crafted XML document.
Recommendations
For PHP versions prior to 5.4.45, update to version 5.4.45 or later.
For PHP versions 5.5.x prior to 5.5.29, update to version 5.5.29 or later.
For PHP versions 5.6.x prior to 5.6.13, update to version 5.6.13 or later.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the xsl ext function php function until a patch is available.
