Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Huawei Campus series switch models S2300, S2700, S3300, S3700, S5300EI, S5700EI, S5300SI, S5700SI, S5300HI, S5700HI, S6300EI, S6700EI, S5710HI, S5300LI, S5700LI, S2350EI, S2750EI, S5720HI, S7700, S9300, S9700 (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to the IP stack in Huawei Campus series switch models, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (reboot) via a crafted ICMP request message. This is due to insufficient checking of input IP parameters. The IP stack implementation mishandles IP options when a crafted ICMP request message is received, leading to the board reboot.
Recommendations
For all affected Huawei Campus series switch models, consider temporarily disabling the handling of ICMP request messages until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the IP stack implementation to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Avoid using the IP options in the affected IP stack implementation until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
