| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Siklu EtherHaul radios versions prior to 3.7.1
Siklu EtherHaul radios versions 6.x prior to 6.9.0
Description
The issue is related to a built-in, hidden root account with an unchangeable password that is the same across all devices. This account can be accessed via both SSH and the device's web interface, granting full control over the underlying embedded Linux OS on the device. The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to the device's operating system with administrative privileges using either SSH or the web interface.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 3.7.1, update to version 3.7.1 or later to resolve the issue.
For versions 6.x prior to 6.9.0, update to version 6.9.0 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the SSH and web interface to minimize the risk of exploitation.
