CVE-2015-6749

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions vorbis-tools versions 1.4.0 and earlier
Description The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the aiff open function, located in oggenc/audio.c, which can be triggered by a crafted AIFF file. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a crash. The exploitation of this issue can lead to a service disruption.
Recommendations For versions 1.4.0 and earlier, consider disabling the aiff open function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to AIFF files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
