Description The issue allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via a long digit string associated with an invalid backreference within a regular expression. This occurs due to an integer underflow in regcomp.c in Perl.

Recommendations For Perl versions prior to 5.20, update to version 5.20 or later to resolve the issue. For Apple OS X versions prior to 10.10.5, update to version 10.10.5 or later to resolve the issue.
