CVE-2014-7939

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 40.0.2214.91
Description The issue allows remote attackers to bypass the Same Origin Policy via crafted JavaScript code with Proxy.create and console.log calls, related to HTTP responses that lack an "X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff" header.
Recommendations For versions prior to 40.0.2214.91, update to version 40.0.2214.91 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Harmony proxy in Google V8 until a patch is available. Restrict access to potentially vulnerable API endpoints to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the Proxy.create function in conjunction with console.log calls in affected versions until the issue is resolved.
