CVE-2014-9603
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FFmpeg versions prior to 2.5.2
Description
The issue is related to the
vmd decode function in libavcodec/vmdvideo.c, which does not validate the relationship between a certain length value and the frame width. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds array access) or possibly have unspecified other impact via crafted Sierra VMD video data.Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.5.2, update to version 2.5.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the
vmd decode function until a patch is available.Fix
