CVE-2015-0261

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions tcpdump versions prior to 4.7.2
Description The issue is caused by an integer signedness error in the mobility opt print function, which is part of the IPv6 mobility printer. This error allows remote attackers to potentially cause a denial of service, resulting in an out-of-bounds read and crash, or possibly execute arbitrary code. The attack is facilitated by a negative length value.
Recommendations For versions prior to 4.7.2, update to version 4.7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the mobility opt print function until a patch is available.
