CVE-2015-1345

CVSS v2.0

2.1

Low

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions grep versions 2.19 through 2.21
Description The issue allows local users to cause a denial of service, resulting in an out-of-bounds heap read and crash, via crafted input when using the -F option. This is due to a problem in the bmexec trans function in kwset.c.
Recommendations For versions 2.19 through 2.21, consider avoiding the use of the -F option until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of crafted input to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
