CVE-2015-1822

CVSS v2.0

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions chrony versions prior to 1.31.1
Description The issue allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code via a large number of command requests, due to the failure to initialize the last "next" pointer when saving unacknowledged replies to command requests. This can lead to an uninitialized pointer dereference and daemon crash.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.31.1, update to version 1.31.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the number of command requests to minimize the risk of exploitation.
