CVE-2015-3814

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Wireshark versions 1.10.x through 1.10.13 Wireshark versions 1.12.x through 1.12.4
Description The issue arises from the dissect tfs request and dissect tfs response functions in the IEEE 802.11 dissector, which misinterpret a zero value as a length rather than an error condition. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically an infinite loop, via a crafted packet.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.10.x through 1.10.13, update to version 1.10.14 or later. For Wireshark versions 1.12.x through 1.12.4, update to version 1.12.5 or later.
