CVE-2015-4036

CVSS v2.0

7.2

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 4.0
Description The issue is related to an array index error in the tcm vhost make tpg function, which was later renamed to vhost scsi make tpg, in the Linux kernel. This error might allow guest OS users to cause a denial of service, resulting in memory corruption, or possibly have other unspecified impacts. The vulnerability can be triggered via a crafted VHOST SCSI SET ENDPOINT ioctl call.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 4.0, update to version 4.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the VHOST SCSI SET ENDPOINT ioctl call to minimize the risk of exploitation.
