CVE-2015-4469

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libmspack versions prior to 0.5
Description The issue is related to the chmd read headers function in chmd.c, which does not validate name lengths. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a buffer over-read and application crash, by using a crafted CHM file. No information is provided about the estimated number of potentially affected devices or real-world incidents.
Recommendations For versions prior to 0.5, update to version 0.5 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of crafted CHM files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
