| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 9 through 11
Description
A remote code execution issue exists in the way the VBScript and JScript engines handle objects in memory, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via a crafted web site. This could enable an attacker to gain the same user rights as the current user. If the current user has administrative rights, the attacker could take control of the affected system, install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 9 through 11, update to a version that includes the fix for the Scripting Engine Memory Corruption issue to prevent remote code execution and denial of service attacks.
