Description The issue is related to the proto tree add bytes item function in the protocol-tree implementation. It does not properly terminate a data structure after a failure to locate a number within a string. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an application crash, via a crafted packet.

Recommendations For Wireshark versions 1.12.x through 1.12.6, update to version 1.12.7 or later to resolve the issue.
