CVE-2015-6496

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions conntrack-tools versions 1.4.2 and earlier
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via specific types of packets, including DCCP, SCTP, or ICMPv6 packets, due to the failure of conntrackd to ensure that optional kernel modules are loaded before use.
Recommendations For versions 1.4.2 and earlier, consider temporarily disabling the use of optional kernel modules until a patch is available. Restrict access to the affected conntrackd service to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
