Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via various parameters in different PHP files, including
system advanced misc.php and system advanced firewall.php and system advanced notifications.php. The vulnerable parameters include proxypass, adaptiveend, adaptivestart, maximumstates, maximumtableentries, aliasesresolveinterval, proxyurl, proxyuser, proxyport, name, notification name, ipaddress, password, smtpipaddress, smtpport, smtpfromaddress, smtpnotifyemailaddress, smtpusername, and smtppassword.Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.2.3, update to version 2.2.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable parameters in the affected PHP files until a patch is applied. Avoid using the vulnerable parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved.
