Description The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the f parameter, which is not properly handled in an error page, related to "ForeignAPI images." This is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the thumb.php file.

Recommendations For MediaWiki versions prior to 1.23.10, update to version 1.23.10 or later. For MediaWiki versions 1.24.x prior to 1.24.3, update to version 1.24.3 or later. For MediaWiki versions 1.25.x prior to 1.25.2, update to version 1.25.2 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the thumb.php file until a patch is available. Avoid using the f parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.
