CVE-2015-6806

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GNU screen version 4.3.1 and earlier
Description The issue is related to the MScrollV function in ansi.c, which does not properly limit recursion. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically stack consumption, via an escape sequence with a large repeat count value.
Recommendations For GNU screen version 4.3.1 and earlier, consider updating to a newer version that addresses this issue. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the MScrollV function to minimize the risk of exploitation.
