CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FFmpeg versions prior to 2.7.2
Description
The issue is related to multiple integer underflows in the ff mjpeg decode frame function, which can be exploited by remote attackers using crafted MJPEG data. This can lead to a denial of service due to out-of-bounds array access, and potentially have other unspecified impacts.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.7.2, update to version 2.7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of MJPEG data from untrusted sources until the update is applied.
