CVE-2015-6822
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FFmpeg versions prior to 2.7.2
Description
The issue is related to the destroy buffers function in libavcodec/sanm.c, which does not properly maintain height and width values in the video context. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a segmentation violation and application crash, or possibly have other unspecified impacts via crafted LucasArts Smush video data.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.7.2, update to version 2.7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of LucasArts Smush video data until the update is applied.
