Description The issue is related to the allocate buffers function in libavcodec/alac.c, which does not initialize certain context data. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have other unspecified impacts via crafted Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) data.

Recommendations For versions prior to 2.7.2, update to version 2.7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of ALAC data until the update is applied.
