CVE-2015-6826
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FFmpeg versions prior to 2.7.2
Description
The issue is related to the
ff rv34 decode init thread copy function in libavcodec/rv34.c, which does not initialize certain structure members. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (invalid pointer access) or possibly have unspecified other impact via crafted RealVideo data, specifically RV30 or RV40.Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.7.2, update to version 2.7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of RV30 and RV40 RealVideo data until the update is applied.
