Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
refbase versions through 0.9.6
refbase bleeding-edge versions through 2015-04-28
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML. This can be achieved via the
adminUserName, pathToMYSQL, databaseStructureFile, or pathToBibutils parameters to "install.php" or the adminUserName parameter to "update.php".Recommendations
For refbase versions through 0.9.6, avoid using the
adminUserName, pathToMYSQL, databaseStructureFile, or pathToBibutils parameters in "install.php" until the issue is resolved.
For refbase bleeding-edge versions through 2015-04-28, restrict access to the adminUserName parameter in "update.php" to minimize the risk of exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.XSS
