CVE-2015-7550

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 4.3.4
Description The issue is related to the keyctl read key function in the Linux kernel, which does not properly use a semaphore. This allows local users to cause a denial of service, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference and system crash, or possibly have other unspecified impacts. The issue can be triggered by a crafted application that leverages a race condition between keyctl revoke and keyctl read calls.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 4.3.4, update to version 4.3.4 or later to resolve the issue.
