CVE-2015-7613

CVSS v2.0

6.9

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions through 4.2.3
Description A race condition exists in the IPC object implementation, allowing local users to gain privileges. This occurs when an ipc addid call is triggered, leading to comparisons of uid and gid against uninitialized data. The issue is related to the msg.c, shm.c, and util.c files.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions through 4.2.3, update to a version later than 4.2.3 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the IPC object implementation to minimize the risk of exploitation.
