Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the password management functionality. This can be exploited by remote authenticated users via a crafted key file, potentially leading to a denial of service (daemon crash) or execution of arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For NTP versions 4.2.x through 4.2.8p3, update to version 4.2.8p4 or later.
For NTP versions 4.3.x through 4.3.76, update to version 4.3.77 or later.
For Cisco Nexus, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
