Description The issue concerns the ntpq saveconfig command, which does not properly filter special characters. This allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via a crafted filename.
Recommendations For NTP version 4.1.2, update to a version later than 4.1.2 to resolve the issue. For NTP versions 4.2.x through 4.2.8p5, update to version 4.2.8p6 or later. For NTP versions 4.3, 4.3.25, 4.3.70, 4.3.77, consider disabling the ntpq saveconfig command until a patch is available.
