| Vector | AV:L/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle MySQL versions 5.5.45 and earlier
Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.26 and earlier
Description
The issue allows local users to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability via vectors related to Server: Option. It is also possible for a high privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server, resulting in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.5.45 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.5.45 to resolve the issue.
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.26 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.26 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Server: Option component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
