Description
The issue is related to errors in the code of the Optimizer subcomponent of the MySQL database management system. Exploitation of this issue can allow a remote attacker to cause the system to hang or crash, potentially leading to a denial of service. The vulnerability can be exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols.
Recommendations
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.6.27 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.27 to resolve the issue.
For Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.9 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.9 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
