CVE-2016-1623

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 48.0.2564.109 Opera (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the DOM implementation in the browser, which does not properly restrict frame-attach operations from occurring during or after frame-detach operations. This allows remote attackers to bypass the Same Origin Policy via a crafted web site. The vulnerability is related to files such as FrameLoader.cpp, HTMLFrameOwnerElement.h, LocalFrame.cpp, and WebLocalFrameImpl.cpp.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 48.0.2564.109, update to version 48.0.2564.109 or later to resolve the issue. For Opera, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
